After scripture and prayers, the pupils aged between 5 and 21 years – go to their classrooms. A stipulated teaching programme, which is designed to suit the needs of the pupils, is followed. In the junior and intermediate classes, much emphasis is placed on life skills, such as self-care, safety and development of social skills, as well as perceptual, motor and communication skills. However the necessity of basic literacy is also addressed. The senior curriculum is aimed at preparing pupils for adult life. In reasonably well-equipped workshops the boys are shown how to operate machinery in responsible way. Girls are taught to cook and sew in the Home Economics Centre.
